Rocher de la Cathédrale lies along the Red Hiking Route and is best known for its excellent Orange circuit. The problems are generally on low boulders, making the area especially beginner-friendly while still offering a few of enjoyable climbing for all levels. Scattered among the easier climbs, you’ll also find a handful of harder problems—perfect if you’re looking for an extra challenge, just in case the Orange circuit is too easy for you.
This sector is relatively quiet compared to other Fontainebleau areas: you’re more likely to meet hikers than fellow climbers. Access is straightforward from either of the two parking options shown on the map, each requiring about a 15-minute walk. Complete the full Orange circuit here and you’ll even earn a medal on this website.
